2023 Jurors Rights and Responsibilities

1.  Proper clothing is required.  All persons entering the courtroom should be dressed in clothing reasonably befitting the dignity and solemnity of the court proceedings.
2.  Failure to answer summons and penalties:  A person who fails to comply with a jury summons is subject to a contempt action punishable by a fine of not less that $100 nor more than $1000. (Government Code, Section 62.0141).
3.  To claim an exemption or report your disqualification you must complete the form on the back of your summons, sign it and mail or personally bring it immediately to the address printed on the front of the summons.
